Our first visit to the Okefenokee swamp in Southern Georgia turned out to be one of my favorite trips of 2009.  Having lived in Georgia for over 14 years and

never visiting the swamp seemed like a real missed travel opportunity.  I had always wanted to go down to visit but felt quite intimidated by the thought of pitching a tent and sleeping on the ground right alongside alligators and poisonous snakes!  So once we took the dive and purchased the Argosy I knew that a trip to the swamp was on the top of the travel list. Well, this seems to be the moment I daydreamed about! I came home from a horrible week at work to find a little brown envelope with my name on it resting on the kitchen counter top. After peeling it open, I found a picture inside of a Argosy 28 with photos of me and Russ and the dogs photoshopped on it with the caption “ours” underneath the photo. I cried in excitement and awe from such a thoughtful and meaningful gift. Russ is truly a remarkable person.

We are making plans to go to Charleston in two weeks to pick up the rig. The seller assures us everything works and it is road worthy. So far, we have no reason not to believe him. I have made reservations at Skidaway Island for two nights in order to get our selves on a crash course to understanding the new digs. We need to figure out insurance for the rig, which is not an easy task over the weekend. Hopefully, this will not be a total disaster!

After countless hours in stores today working on getting some essentials pulled together; I can easily say I am even more excited than before. All I need to do is get through two weeks of work and a final, then we are off on our first big adventure.

I guess it is not technically our just yet, but I am really enjoying pretending like it is. The Argosy is exactly what we were looking for, so I think this should be a great first time RV for us to go exploring!
